What Your Dashboard Shows You
Your author dashboard gives you a real-time view of everything that matters about your work on Vellichor. Here’s what you’ll find:
Performance Metrics
- Page views — how many times each of your published pieces has been read, updated daily
- Unique readers — distinct visitors to your content, so you can see your actual audience size
- Read time — average time readers spend on each piece, which tells you more than raw views
- Follower count — readers who have followed your author profile and will be notified of new work
- Donation total — cumulative reader donations to your work, updated in real time
Content Management
- Submit new work — send essays, reviews, short fiction, or craft pieces directly from your dashboard
- Track submission status — see whether your submission is under review, accepted, or needs revision
- Edit published pieces — request corrections or updates to live content
- Manage your author bio — update your profile, photo, and links at any time
Earnings
Vellichor pays contributing authors through two streams. Reader donations go directly to you — when a reader tips your work, that money is yours. We also pay a ₹50 follow bonus (PPP-adjusted) for every new reader who follows your author profile. Your dashboard shows your running total and payout history. Payouts are processed monthly once your balance reaches the minimum threshold.
Submitting Your Work
We publish essays, book reviews, craft guides, short fiction, and author spotlights. The work we’re looking for is specific: it should have a point of view, it should be written for readers who love the genre deeply, and it should say something that hasn’t been said better elsewhere. We don’t publish listicles or content that reads like it was written for an algorithm.

Building Your Audience on Vellichor
Your author profile page is public and discoverable. Readers who find your work can follow you, which means they’ll see your new pieces in their feed and receive notifications when you publish. The more consistently you publish, the faster your follower count grows — and the more your donation income compounds.
The authors who do best here are the ones who treat Vellichor as a home, not a submission outlet. They engage with the community, they link to their Vellichor work from their own platforms, and they write pieces that are genuinely part of the conversation the site is having.
