1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Vellichor at bpmiller.tech, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms apply to all visitors, registered users, members, and contributing authors. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Membership and Payments
Vellichor offers free and paid membership tiers (Devotee at $3.99/mo, Lore Keeper at $7.99/mo). Payments are processed via Razorpay (India) or PayPal (international). Subscriptions renew automatically on your billing date unless cancelled. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. You may cancel at any time from your Account page — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Prices are in USD. Indian members are billed in INR at PPP-adjusted rates. We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice to existing members.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information during registration. You may not share your account or create multiple accounts to circumvent membership restrictions. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
All editorial content published on Vellichor is owned by its respective authors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish any content without written permission. Brief quotations for review or commentary are permitted with clear attribution.
Authors who contribute retain full ownership of their work but grant Vellichor a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, display, and promote it on the Site and in our newsletter. This licence terminates if the content is removed at the author’s request. The Vellichor name, logo, and site design are our intellectual property and may not be used without permission.
5. Author Earnings
Contributing authors may earn follow bonuses and reader donations as described in the Author Programme. Payouts are processed via PayPal monthly, subject to a minimum balance threshold. Vellichor is not liable for delays caused by third-party payment processors, incorrect payout details, or PayPal account restrictions. Authors are responsible for any tax obligations arising from their earnings.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: post spam or unsolicited promotions; harass or abuse other users or authors; circumvent membership paywalls; scrape or systematically download site content by automated means; use the Site for any unlawful purpose; impersonate another person; or upload malicious code or content designed to disrupt the Site.
7. Disclaimers
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free. Editorial opinions are those of individual authors and do not constitute professional advice. We make no representations about the accuracy or completeness of any content on the Site.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Vellichor and its operators, employees, and contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of — or inability to use — the Site or its content. This includes loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of profits, or any other economic loss, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the Site shall not exceed the amount you paid to Vellichor in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
If you are accessing the Site from outside India, you do so at your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your jurisdiction.
We will attempt to resolve disputes informally before resorting to formal legal proceedings. If you have a complaint, contact us first and we will try to resolve it within 14 days.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if you violate these terms or if we reasonably believe your use poses a risk to other users or to the Site.
